Tips & strategy

Frequently asked questions

Is MelonDrop free?

Yes — it runs free in any modern browser. No download, no account, and no ads interrupting your run.

What is the Daily Challenge?

Every day there is one seeded puzzle, the same for players worldwide. Finish it daily to keep your streak alive.

How do I share my score?

Press Share after a run: you get a spoiler-free emoji card with your score, streak and a link to challenge friends.

Does it work on phones and offline?

Yes. MelonDrop is touch-first and installs as an offline-capable web app from your browser menu.

What's the biggest fruit and how do I make the watermelon?

There are 10 fruit sizes, from cherry to watermelon. Two identical fruits merge into the next size — the watermelon appears at tier 10, and two watermelons touching pop for a +100 bonus.

How does scoring work?

Merging into a fruit of tier t scores t(t−1)/2 points. Merges within a second of each other build a combo multiplier up to ×5, a cluster of identical fruits pays up to ×3, and a double-watermelon pop adds +100.

What is the cluster bonus?

When three or more identical fruits touch at the same time, every pair in the group merges at once with an up-to-×3 score multiplier — a cluster of four even cascades into a free extra tier on the next frame.

Can I challenge a friend?

Yes — after a run hit Share and send the link. It carries your score as a target: your friend sees a “beat this” banner while playing and a win/lose verdict on the result screen.

How do the leaderboards work?

Three boards live in the side panel: Today, This week and All-time. Every finished run is recorded locally with its date and is browsable page by page; the top three get gold, silver and bronze medals.

Is my progress saved? Do you collect my data?

Scores, streaks and achievements are stored locally in your browser — no account, no sign-up, and no personal data ever leaves your device.
